Colourful Interior Trends for Spring

It’s always refreshing to see which are the latest colour trends gracing our favourite interior magazines or popping up on our Instagram feeds. It seemed that 2017 was the year for pastel hues, with blush pinks and moss-toned greens pinned indelibly across Pinterest, while 2018 appears, to all intents and purposes, to be a year for bolds and brights. You may intend to stick to a more comforting and neutral colour palette, regardless of what the trend forecasters are saying, but for those who are feeling adventurous or looking to redecorate, it’s always interesting – and inspiring – to see how these colours begin to feed into homes up and down the country, and the tins people are dipping their paintbrushes into.

From inky blues to cerise pinks and olive greens, there’s rather a lot to choose from, but then that’s the beauty of interiors – the possibilities really are quite endless.

add a little greenery

Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2017, Greenery, remains a firm favourite heading into 2018 too. Opt for a luxurious feature wall or inject a little green with a selection of soft accessories, many of which incorporate another popular trend for this year too – velvet!

Insert a little rustic charm with our truly beautiful Charlton Green Painted range, combining a stunning soft sage green with complementary brushed oak surfaces, it’s the perfect option if you’re not too confident with a paintbrush, but still yearning to add a touch of greenery.

make me blush

Another incredibly popular colour for 2017, the blush tones of pink and lilac remain on a decorator’s pedestal for 2018 too. Perfect for brightening a space up and creating a relaxing and homely ambience, it’s difficult to go wrong with this serene and uplifting colour palette.

Venturing over to the Dark Side is a trend we’ve been seeing rather a lot of in recent months as these inky darker hues of the colour wheel continue to grow in popularity. While you may be fond of more neutral tones, this richer palette can be incorporated in many subtle ways too – by adding cool cosiness to an all-white bedroom or adding a small splash of colour to the bathroom.

If you’re looking to create a more striking tone for your home, our popular and timeless Westcote Blue range fits the bill perfectly.
