Harrogate Flower Festival
Harrogate is a wonderful place to visit at any time of year, but in April its in full bloom! The Harrogate Flower Festival kickstarts the beginning of the flower show season and its a good place to start for any gardening enthusiast.
If you get the opportunity to go, make sure you pop along to Betty’s Tearoom while you’re in the neighbourhood.

Funny Girl – The Savoy Theatre
Multi award winning Sheridan Smith plays the star of Funny Girl, portrayed famously on screen by Barbara Streisand. After selling all available tickets at the Menier Chocolate Factory, the show has added dates to The Savoy Theatre throughout April. Hurry to get tickets while they’re still available!

Walks Wiltshire Agatha Christie Cotswolds

Make use of the long Spring days in April by taking a walk through Castle Combe in Wiltshire. If you’re a fan of murder mystery you can even follow the tracks of Hercule Poirot, in Agatha Christie’s classic ‘The Murder of Roger Ackroyd’. This fascinating little medieval village has also provided a film set to a multitude of productions including the 2007 fantasy, Stardust.

Tour De Yorkshire
At the end of April you can join hundreds of spectators lining the tracks of the Tour De Yorkshire. There are 3 stages to the cycling event, over the course of 3 days, so you can pick a post on the tracks between Beverley & Settle, Otley & Doncaster, Middlesbrough & Scarborough. Take in the spectacle while admiring some of the UK’s most stunning scenery.

If you want to catch a true sign of Spring before it’s too late, there’s still time to spot a mad March hare in action! Take a trip to the countryside this April to find these magnificent and usually solitary creatures, out and active. Countryfile recommend the open plains of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk as well as the Marlborough Downs for your best opportunity to witness them.

London Marathon

If you’re not quite crazy enough to take part, the London Marathon is an incredible event as a spectator. London is buzzing with hope and enthusiasm as it watches in awe at everyone from global athletes to national novices striving for the finish line.
